Il tema di questa settimana non è nuovo ai gruppi rock: la band che salva il mondo da una catastrofe imminente. Se non è la band, è comunque un gruppo ristretto di persone che sanno vedere al di là, o, come in questo caso, “leggere la scritta sulla parete”, ovvero i segni odierni di quello che potrebbe avvenire in futuro. Siamo a Londra e il gruppo è la storica band heavy metal degli Iron Maiden. Questo brano è un loro classico piuttosto recente, tra i più belli che io ho sentito (ammetto di non conoscerli benissimo). Innanzitutto c’è da indicare l’opera d’arte accessoria costituita dal video ufficiale, una sorta di “anime” giapponese con disegni bellissimi. Dal punto di vista del testo, vale la pena di notare i numerosi riferimenti alla Bibbia. Alla faccia di chi dice che le band heavy metal sono tutte sataniche, infatti, questo brano (come altri dello stesso genere) dimostra una notevole cultura in quest’ambito che la maggior parte di noi allevati come cristiani non abbiamo di certo.
